Thai Cooking Classes
We’re starting to offer Thai cooking classes in sunny Portland, Oregon. Our Thai cooking classes are taught by Cee, the author of this website. Cee lived in Bangkok, Thailand for five years studying the culture, food and language of Thailand. Come study Thai cooking in her home, right in inner Southeast Portland.

Typical Thai Meal
Create a typical Thai dinner with one soup, one salad, one stir fried dish along with Thai jasmine rice. Learn the basics of Thai cooking and what makes a typical meal. Examples of dishes in this class: Tom Yum (hot & sour soup), Tom Khaa (hot soup with coconut milk), Tom Jeud (clear soup), Yum Khai Dao (fried egg salad), Som Tum (papaya salad), Yum Tuo Ploo (wing bean salad), Yum Pak Boong (water spinach salad), Pak Boong Fai Daeng (stir fried water spinach), Gai Pad Gratiem Prik Thai (Chicken Stir Fried in Garlic and Black Pepper) or Naam Prik Gapi (shrimp paste dip).
Street Food
This class covers the basics in Thai street food, with an emphasis on Bangkok’s street food. Cee lived in Bangkok for five years and ate street food daily. You’ll learn 4 dishes which make great appetizers or tapas for parties. You’ll also learn a bit about Thai culture and food.
Options include: khai look keuy (son in law eggs), som tum (papaya salad), gai haw bai teuy (chicken in pandan leaf), tod mun khao pod (fried corn fritters), por piad tod (spring rolls), etc. Feel free to request a dish!

Noodles
This class covers the basics of Thai noodle dishes, including the difference between the types of noodles, preparation, storage, etc. We’ll make 4 noodle dishes together: pad thai (thai style street noodles), pad see ew (stir fried noodles with soy sauce and chinese broccoli), pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and laap woon sen (northeastern/issan style clear noodle salad).
Curry
Learn how to make authentic Thai curries the old fashioned way. Hand pound your curry paste, hand squeeze fresh coconut milk. Learn to make the best Thai curry you’ll ever eat! This class is labor intensive and will cover just one curry. Either red, green or massaman curry.
Classes are $75 for 3 hours, minimum 3 people. Classes are taught in a home in Southeast Portland Oregon. Please contact us if you’re interested!
